2010 Cranberry Sauce

I try a new cranberry sauce recipe every year and one year I'll find "the one" that will become a part of our family tradition. This was really close, it was actually the best variation I've tried so far, but I'm still looking for the oh my moment.

Cranberry, Pear and Ginger Relish

  • 3 cfresh cranberries
  • 2 cfinely chopped peeled Anjou pear (about 3 pears)
  • 1⅓ corange juice
  • 1¼ cdried cranberries
  • ⅔ cpacked brown sugar
  • 3 tbspdried currants or raisins
  • 3 tbspminced crystallized ginger
  • ⅛ tspground cardamom


Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Chill.
